Falling into a Pattern

I don't know what it is with me and trying to keep up with this blog. I guess life happens so fast, that I hardly find time to sit down and capture it all in words. I really do like to go back and read the thoughts in my head later, so I have to get better at making the time to update this blog.

Summer came and went. It was a whirlwind of family visiting in July, with my sister and her newly vowed husband, Max, flying to New York and catching up after 6 months of being in Europe. Mid-month, my brother Alex and his family came to New York from Florida for a wedding, so we got to visit with them for a day. It was the first time that I got to meet my nephew, Marcus, in person, so it was exciting for me, as an aunt for the first time.

August was full of weeks when my mom would come and watch the boys, and then weeks were Matt's parents would come and do that same, with a couple weeks in between when the boys went to a friend's house and played all day keeping each other out of trouble. It was nice to have the boys spend so much time with their grandparents, and it was nice to save a little bit of money on babysitting fees!

September came quickly with lots of things to prepare for the school year. Drew started 1st grade, and Colin started his first full year of pre-school. Both were very excited to start school and have transitioned very nicely. It nice to get into a schedule for our days and it's good to know that they are both enjoying learning and socializing with their friends. It takes the guilt out of being at work full time.

For extracirriculars, Drew is doing soccer and Fall baseball this season. He loves his baseball, and couldn't wait to play again, since the season ended this past Spring. Soccer is fun too, so both Saturdays and Sundays are filled with games. Matt is helping out with coaching both teams, so it gives them a chance to bond and do something together on a regular basis. They both seem to enjoy it.

Now that we are back into a groove with things, it's only a matter of time that life with throw in something to make us keep us on our toes. ;-)
